Iowa NewsIowa Catholic Daughters of the Americas was one of the 41 groups and individuals honored by Gov. Tom on Monday, December 6, 2004, at the Iowa State Historical Building. The awards were for people and groups who have made a difference in the lives of Iowa children in areas of critical and emergency services and the juvenile justice system. Iowa CDA officers were present for the awards ceremony. Each of the CDA officers are from a different diocese in Iowa. Present from the Des Moines diocese were Dola and Elaine. Catholic Daughters of the Americas is the largest organization of Catholic women in the Americas, with courts all around the country. The local court meets the second Monday of the month at St. Peter's church hall in Council Bluffs, IA. For information or to become a member, please contact regent Jan Roth (712) 323-1996.
